“German Euro-Toast is a 2009 painting of pop artist Eugene Al Pann. The year when this artwork was painted is very important because, at that time, nobody even dreamed that it will get to this political stand off in EU economy.
The statement of this artwork, as Eugene Al Pann confessed, is that "euro is a big loaf of bread that feeds the whole community. Somehow, Germans manage to eat all the dough leaving the crust to be shared by the rest of the nations."
“German Euro-Toast” 2009, (acrylic on canvas, 60 x 60 cm) talks about a reference moment, to come, in EU history. Since the artwork was painted, Germany already drove the EU to a dark road and rubbed every one of all resources and assets, leaving all hungry." (Peter E. Frank)
